UB Math & Science Staff

 


  • The year-round staff (the central staff) consists of:

Director Jim Clark

Jim has worked with students as a Secondary Math teacher and Secondary Principal. He brings this experience to the UBMS program as well as experience as the father of two. He earned a BA in Math Education and an MA in Secondary Educational Administration at the University of Iowa. He has been in charge of the UBMS program since its beginning in the fall of 1991.

Counselor Linda Davison

Linda has worked with young people as a Family Consumer Sciences teacher. She brings this to the program as well as experience as the mother of two. She earned her BS in Home Economics and her MS in School Counseling from Northwest. Linda also has been with the program since its beginning.

Secretary Ronda Sigman

Ronda joined the UBMS program staff in February of 2008. She previously worked for various businesses in Northwest Missouri and as a secretary for her church, but now enjoys helping the UBMS program reach eligible students.

 

* 6 Resident Tutors

- Successful Northwest students who live with the participants in the residence hall and supervise them.

* 5 Evening Counselors

- Practicing school counselors or students from the Master's degree counseling programs at Northwest who conduct group and individual counseling sessions in the evenings.

* 6 High School Teachers

- 3 outstanding math teachers and 3 outstanding science teachers from the 4-state region who teach specialty topics not usually available in most high schools.

* 6 Teaching Assistants

- Successful Northwest students who assist the instructors with whatever needs to be done to make classes flow smoothly.

* Northwest University faculty members

- Approximately 13 University instructors hired to teach units in their major field so that UBMS students are exposed to University instructors.
