Facilities & Ceremonies

J.W. Jones Student Union

Northwest is equipped with great facilities and while you are here you will enjoy the convenience of the J.W. Jones Student Union.  We have reserved all the meeting space in the Union for the weekend.  The J.W. Jones Union provides plenty of space to sit and relax if you have the opportunity to take a break.  The 3rd Floor is where all meetings will be taking place; this way you will have to move around at the BEARminimum.  The student union will have wireless internet and all of the technology that you could ever need; after all we are America’s first electronic campus!  Opening Ceremonies will take place in the Ballroom located on the 3rd floor of the union.  Following Opening, the Ballroom will be set up by the wonderful Union Staff for the Bid presentations on Saturday.  Following the bid presentations we will turn the room over to ARAMARK to set up for lunch and our wonderful served banquet.  Our union staff has assured us that they can accommodate all of these things in the Ballroom and be set up in plenty of time.  The J.W. Jones Student Union and all of its rooms are ADA accessible, and we will be sure that any of those needs are handled during the conference.  Food services will also be available, as ARAMARK’s food court will be open throughout the day.

NCC Boardroom

We will be holding all of the meetings on 3rd floor of the union as well.  The NCC’s will be located right across from the Ballroom in our Boardroom, which accommodates 76 people comfortably, with a boardroom style set up.  The NCC’s will have plenty of room to do their business during the weekend, which we know is very important.  This room will be equipped with technology as needed.

NRHH Boardroom

The NRHH representatives will be located in the Tower View Room.  This room accommodates 50-100 people, and should be more than enough space for them.  The room can have several different set-ups and we will be sure to accommodate them in every way possible during the weekend.

PCC Boardroom

PCC’s will be holding their meetings in Meeting Room A.  This room is large enough for 50 people.  Our Union staff will be able to set-up the room however it may be needed for the PCC’s during the weekend.

Other Facilities

The Caucuses will be located in Meeting Rooms B, C, D, E, and the Alumni Room.

During the weekend we know it is important that the conference staff be accessible to you at all times.  The conference staff headquarters will be located next to the board room in the First Ladies Room for the duration of the conference.  If at anytime during your weekend you need assistance, please stop by and someone on staff will be there to help you out!

Ceremonies

Opening and Closing Ceremonies will be taking place in the Ballroom in the J.W. Jones Student Union.  The Ballroom has more than enough space to accommodate the number of people we are expecting, as it will hold 500 people.
Parking is conveniently located just outside of the building and should not be a problem for delegations attending the conference.

Keynote Speaker

The conference staff has decided to go a little untraditional for a keynote speaker and instead will be putting together a video featuring several leaders, staff, and faculty from across the campus and the community.  The video will be getting several different opinions on what leadership is, what a leader should possess, and how important your experience now will be for your future.  This video will hopefully give you dozens of perspectives, rather than just one person.
