To participate in KNWT please talk with your student advisor about enrolling in Television Practicum. Even if it does not relate to your major, you can gain extremely valuable experience by helping out the station in non-programming related areas such as web site maintenance, sales, and promotion/advertising. We are always looking for people with these skill sets to assist in running a successful television business.

Students enrolled in standard Television Practicum are responsible for assisting in one of the shows airing in that particular semester, and are also assigned to work on one of three teams; Promotions, Sales, and Production. These teams and shows are led by students enrolled in the Advanced Television Practicum course. Students are also required to work several times for the live broadcast News 8 Now television program. Students enrolled in Television Practicum earn 1 credit hour (graded) for their efforts.

Students enrolled in Advanced Television Practicum are responsible for making sure the TV station has show content produced weekly, and to manage all business aspects of the station including; advertisers, promotions, station events, commercial production and accounting. Positions held in this course are: Show Producer, Sales Manager, Promotions Manager, Production Manager, Program Manager, and General Manager. Students enrolled in Advanced Television Practicum earn 2 credit hours (graded) of 300 level credit for their participation. (Regular Television Practicum, and Broadcast Operations are required prerequisites for this course).
