Mrs. Lynette Tappmeyer
Second Level Teacher

Second grade utilizes a cross-curricular approach to major themes throughout the year. Beginning in the summer, students study pond life. We then venture into a study of immigration, fairy tales, dinosaurs, endangered animals and culminates the year by studying deserts around the world. Independent study and problem solving is interwoven throughout the subjects. There is a balanced reading and writing program in place that encourages success for children at all developmental levels. Children are encouraged to learn throughout their individual learning styles.
