Horace Mann Library is a model, exemplary elementary school library. We serve the Horace Mann Lab School and Early Childhood Program faculty, students and families as well as the College of Education faculty and students. Preservice teachers learn of quality literature as they use our resources for their education classes and practica.

The Show Me Connection Study was commissioned by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Missouri Library Association. Results were shared during the summer of 2004. Three library components showed a statistically significant relationship to student achievement: library usage, summer reading programs and library access. The library budget and technology also showed a relationship. Horace Mann Library utilized this research to strenghten its programs.
