Dr. Mark Corson is from San Francisco, CA. He received his PhD from the University of South Carolina in 1998. His research interests are in the areas of political, military, and environmental geography. He teaches numerous courses including: Intro to Geography, Geography of North America, Geography of Europe, Geography of Middle East, Political Geography, Military Geography, and Trends in GIS. Dr. Corson is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserve and has served in Kosovo, Iraq, and Kuwait.

Dr. Patricia Drews received her Ph.D. in Geography from the University of South Carolina. She has been a faculty member in this department since 1999. She is the Graduate Program Director for the department's online Master's and graduate certificate programs in GIScience. She teaches courses in the online graduate GIScience program and undergraduate GIS courses. Her research interests include GIScience, rural-to-urban land use conversion, redistricting, and GIS education.

Dr. Gregory Haddock is from Fairfax, Virginia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Idaho in 1996. He began his career at Northwest in 1996. He has served as department head since 2002. He teaches Introduction to Geography, Maps and Map Interpretation, Cadastral Mapping, and Geostatistics/Spatial Analysis. His research interests vary across many aspects of geography, but mostly center on GIS. These include pedagogy, cultural geography, physical geography, and environmental modeling.

Dr. Jim Hickey

Dr. Hickey received his MS in Geochemistry from Colorado School of Mines in 1986 and recently completed the requirements for his PhD in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College. Jim’s research interests include remote sensing and field spectroscopy, biogeochemistry, computer applications in the geosciences, volcanology and natural hazards. Courses he teaches include General Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Geology, Global Environmental Change, Geomorphology, Environmental Regulations, Geology of US Parklands and Computer Applications in the Geosciences.

Dr. Ming-Chih Hung

Dr. Ming-Chih Hung received his PhD in Geography from the University of Utah in 2003. His research interests include GIScience and urban environments, more specifically remote sensing, GIS, GPS, environmental modeling, GeoVisualization, and urbanization. His teaching activities reflect his research interests. In addition to the traditional in-classroom teaching, he also teaches online courses for the online MS in GIScience program.

Dr. Yanfen Le received her Ph.D from the University of Georgia in 2005. Her research interests are Geographic information science, cartographic visualization, remote sensing, and spatial database. She has taught Principles in GIS (32-545), Advanced GIS (32-565), and Issues in Cartographic Design (32-572).

Dr. C. Renee Rohs received her Ph.D. in Geology from the University of Kansas in 2001 with a focus on isotope geochemistry and geochronology of the continental crust in North America. Research interests include petrology and geochemistry of Precambrian igneous rocks exposed in the St. Francois Mountains, mineralogy of mud volcanoes in Alaska, and the development of a comprehensive assessment tool in geology. Teaching responsibilities include the core courses of Mineralogy and Petrology, introductory courses such as Earth Science and General Geology, and upper-level courses including Geochemistry and Senior Seminar.

Dr. Yi-Hwa Wu received her PhD in Geography from the University of Utah in 2003. Her research interests include GIScience and dynamic transportation modeling, more specifically space-time accessibility, time geography, spatio-temporal database design, GeoComputation, and spatial modeling. Her teaching activities reflect her research interests. In addition to the traditional in-classroom teaching, she also teaches online courses for the online MS in GIScience program.
