How is the program organized?

When students arrive for each session, we give you a placement test. Then we design classes to meet your needs and ability level. Classes may be beginning, low-intermediate, high-intermediate or advanced level. During each session, you will study grammar using a comprehensive computer program, TOEFL preparation, listening and speaking, reading, and writing. Classes start at 9 a.m. and go to 3 or 4 p.m. each day, Monday through Thursday. On five Fridays during the session, you will have a practice TOEFL test, and at the end of the session, you will take the institutional TOEFL..

In addition, the ESL Program sponsors at least one educational or recreational excursion during each session. Trips we've taken in the past include the world class Omaha Zoo, historic Nebraska City, Old West museums of St. Joseph, Worlds of Fun amusement park, and museums and shopping in Kansas City. We hope you'll come and join us!
