What is a Credit Union?

Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative, owned, controlled, and operated for the benefit of its members. Since there are no outside stockholders to satisfy, the credit union can return a greater percentage of its income to you, the member-owner, in the form of higher rates on deposits and lower rates on loans.

Credit union members join together to build long-term financial stability and provide high quality, low-cost financial services.

Who Can Join?

Chartered in 1933, Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union is proud to serve the students, alumni, employees, emeritus faculty and immediate family of the private and state schools in the Northwest Missouri State University district as described in Missouri statutes and employee groups of the northwest area. Our membership covers 19 counties of northwest Missouri.

Family Membership

Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union encourages family members to join. The benefits of credit union membership are not limited to you. The credit union is a wonderful place for your children to learn about savings, your brother or sister to get a low-cost loan, your parents to build their retirement nest egg, or to save for your grandchildren.

How Can I Join?

To become a member of Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union, all that is needed is a deposit of at least $25.00 into your share account and a one-time membership fee of $1.00 This initial deposit establishes your membership/ownership in the credit union.

Once a Member, Always a Member

Once you are a member of the credit union, you remain a member for life--as long as you maintain a $25.00 balance (one share) in your share account.

Financial Security

Every dollar you invest in Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union (up to $100,000) is fully insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.

You can rest assured that there is no safer place for your hard-earned funds than a federally insured credit union.

Savings

Share (Savings) Account

Your share account can be opened with only $25.00 and represents your partial ownership of the credit union. Your share account works just like a regular passbook account, but as an owner you pay no monthly service charge and earn competitive dividends on balances over $100.

Children's Share (Savings) Account

Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union helps your children develop strong financial sensibilities. These new accounts for eligible members' children to age 16 can be opened with only $1.00. Students over the age of 16 who are enrolled in school can also participate. These "associate members" have voting rights and all other full membership privileges when their accounts reach $25.00

Life Savings Insurance

Provided at no additional cost to you, this term life insurance covers your share (savings) account in the event of your death. Your maximum benefit is based on your balance. Restrictions apply so call us for details.

Share Daft (Checking) Account

Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union offers you a truly cost-free alternative to traditional bank checking. Our checking accounts feature no minimum balance, no service charges, no per check charges, and overdraft protection to those who qualify.

Payroll Deduction

It's one of the easiest and safest ways to conduct your credit union business. Use payroll deduction to save money or make loan payments. You choose the amount you want deducted from your paycheck, and we will automatically deposit it to the accounts of your choice.

Direct Deposit

Direct Deposit saves time and worry as your entire net paycheck is deposited directly into your share or share draft (checking) account, ready for your use or to earn dividends. Paychecks or other recurring checks, such as social security or federal disbursements, are all handled with ease.

Signature

Your signature is all that is needed to secure this loan. Amounts up to $3,000 at competitive rates are available, depending on your income and credit rating.

Collateral

Use this loan for new purchases of appliances, computers, furniture, etc., or we can use the title of your vehicle to secure loans for personal usage of funds.

Line-Of-Credit

With Overdraft Protection, you'll never bounce a check again. Loan amounts are available up to $300, based on credit worthiness.

MasterCard Credit Card

With a MasterCard from Northwest Missouri Regional Credit Union, you'll enjoy a low, fixed interest rate, no annual fee, 25-day interest free grace period on purchases, and no minimum finance charge. This is one credit card you'll want to keep.
