examples

Here are some examples of faulty paragraphs.

Lack of development
Binge drinking has dire academic consequences for college students. Students who binge drink have the tendency to skip class, blow off assignments, and generally stop putting effort into their academic livelihood. This is why binge drinking has serious consequences for students who choose to do so.

Lack of specificity
Binge drinking has consequences. Statistics show that people who binge drink have the tendency to do worse in school. People who binge drink do the types of things that cause low grades. This has become a big problem that must be dealt with in certain ways.

Lack of clarity
Things needs changed. Of the people who binge drink, students mostly, there is a consensus that doing poorly in academics is a good thing to do, and should be done. Students who binge drink have a tendency of skipping class, to blow off assignments, and not put effort into their academic livelihood. Many students who see it in action tend to want to do it on a regular basis. This leads to a progession of it continuing.

Lack of unity
Binge drinking has dire academic consequences for college students. Students who binge drink have the tendency to skip class, miss assignments, and generally stop putting effort into their academic livelihood. A national study on early alcoholism shows that eight out of ten college students who binge drink on a regular basis carry below a C average in their courses. In fact, many of these students admit to skipping class or postponing homework because they were either participating in binge drinking, or suffering the after-effects of binge drinking. Local bars host all-you-can-drink specials at least once a week, and students tend to take advantage of those specials. Cases of alcohol poisoning increase dramatically in cities that allow all-you-can-drink specials.

A decent paragraph
Binge drinking has dire academic consequences for college students. Students who binge drink have the tendency to skip class, miss assignments, and generally stop putting effort into their academic livelihood. A national study on early alcoholism shows that eight out of ten college students who binge drink on a regular basis carry below a C average in their courses. Observed students in this study described an increased feeling of apathy while intoxicated, and many claimed they would gladly sacrifice academic time to attend a social function where alcohol was present. In fact, many of these students admit to skipping class or postponing homework because they were either participating in binge drinking, or suffering the after-effects of binge drinking. Students who routinely skip class or fall weeks behind on their homework often fail courses, and they have a significantly high drop out rate.
